Laura | Austin Senior Photography

I got to hang out with Laura the other day.   Laura is a senior and she will be heading to the university really soon, but before all that it was time for a senior portrait session.

Laura was so fun and had the cutest outfits-love the cowboy boots!  This was the first time I met her, but we hit it off right away.  She’s so comfortable on front of the camera- and I have to mention the obvious here- she has the most amazing eyes I have ever seen!  : )

Here are just a couple of my favs!

Thank you Laura for a great session,
Sherry : )

We found this cool space and Laura climed up there.  She’s like 3 feet off the ground and standing on this tiny little ledge!

On to the cool graffiti wall!  How colorful is that?  Love it!

Leili | Austin children Photography

I got to go hang out with Leili, her mom and dad the other day.  This was the first time I met this lovely little family.  Leili is 4 months and has the best hair I have ever seen on a baby!  This girls is going to grow up and have great hair- then again, look at her mom!

Leili was the sweetest, happiest baby ever!  She smiled at the camera all the time, but she also had some funny faces, some serious faces and some curious faces.

I’m so glad that I will spending some more time with this sweet family. I will be shooting more photos of Leili once every few months.  I look forward to seeing her grow this first wonderful year of her life.

Thank you guys for having me in your home.  I look forward to seeing you soon,
Sherry : )

I told you she had serious faces- but I can also see some curiosity in there!

Look- she’s totally striking a pose! How cute!

What an expression!  She was talking and making funny sounds with her mouth!

Then we went outside for a few shots.

Melissa | Perry Mansion bridal photography

How do I get so lucky?  I mean, really, I get to work with some of the most beautiful, photogenic women ever! And then, they all turn out to be beautiful on the inside too!

That’s totally the case with Melissa.  I don’t think that she even knows how really pretty she is- but how could you deny it after you look at these photos?!

We had a great shoot at Perry Mansion. We were the only ones on the property and it was so fun.  It was like having our own massive studio that was fashioned after an old beautiful mansion.  How could I ask for more?

Melissa and Weston- here are their engagement photos- are getting married in San Antonio next month and I can’t wait!

Thanks Melissa for a great session,
Sherry : )

Melissa- bringing out her inner model! How striking does she look? One of my favs for sure.

Sassy!

Really cool green sofa!  Wish I had one at home!

Hello lashes!!

Angie + Jayme | east austin engagement photography

Ok- first I have to say that these photos are making it to the blog so late!  I’m sorry guys- here they are!

Angie and Jayme rock!  We spend a couple of hours in East Austin together, climbing walls, walking on the railroad tracks and we even leaned on walls projecting “serious face”!  I loved it!

I can’t wait for their wedding in November- I have a feeling it’s going to be a blast!

Here are a few of my favs from our session…

We found this really crazy graffiti! There were some not- very- photo- friendly stuff on this wall but we found an area that looked cool without being weird- bad weird not good weird!  FYI- I’m all for good weird!

Angie’s dad, this one is for you!  (inside joke!)

We’re walking around and we come to this little shack!  I say to Angie and Jayme- so I have an idea! Seriously, Angie’s eyes brighten and next thing I know she’s climing to the roof of the shack!

Once they were settled, this big truck- like an 18-wheeler, drives by kicking up dust and dirt everywhere and lays on the horn!  Check out Angie’s reaction! Love it!

Thank you for a great session- see you guys real soon.  : )

Gretchen + Billy | austin wedding photography

I just love it when right from the first moment, you just know that certain people were meant for each other.  That’s what I took away with me the first time I met Gretchen and Billy.
They are creative, sweet, funny, sassy and super in love!

I knew this was going to be a fun wedding and I was right! There was not a dull moment the entire evening and I think that the guests of honor had something to do with that. Just look at the photos and you’ll know what I mean!
Thank you Billy and Gretchen for letting me capture your beautiful day.   Sherry : )

My favorite shot from the ceremony! This is when they were pronounced husband and wife…how cute!

Totally Gorgeous!

Totally Hilarious!

After dinner as the sun was setting, Billy and Gretchen stepped away with James (second shooter), and I for a few minutes. We were able to capture what became my favorite shots of the day. Thank you Billy and Gretchen for taking the time to do this. We looooove it when couples allow us a little bit of time to do some extra shots on their wedding day.

Ok- so when I say these guys were fun…check out the inside of Billy’s ring!

One thing to be said about Billy is that he is not shy! He warmed up the dance floor all on his own!

Yes- that is blue frosting and yes they smashed it in each other’s face! lol!

happy birthday dad!

Today is my dad’s 60th birthday.

My dad is awesome! He’s one of the funniest people I know. If you need proof, check out the photo below. I can’t even begin to explain that one- let’s just say that my dad will do pretty much anything to make us laugh!

Besides from being hilarious, my dad has always taken care of me and been there for me when I needed it the most.  Thank you for all the hard work, all the love and the happy times dad.
I hope that today is a relaxing, fun and wonderful day for you!  Happy Birthday!

Lots of love from Sherry and Sean.  : )

backing up files & best jump photo!

As many of my photographer friends know- we all spend a lot of time double and triple backing up our work. For me, it’s burning DVDs and backup hard drives.  I don’t ever want to loose a file from a wedding!

So today I am in process of the “double back-up” the photos from Matt and Shelley’s wedding and I came across this photo.

Come on- this is hilarious!
I love how all the guys got such good height and see how they’re all the same height?!  Seriously- that’s hard to get! Usually jumping photos are a whole less imperfect than this!

Also- the guys to the right of the photo- that’s Matt and his brother.  They jump exactly the same way!

My favorite thing about this photo is the little boy- Nate!   Wonder what he’s thinking of all this?

Oh by the way, I highly recommend jumping every once in a while- it’s very refreshing!

Erin + Andrew | Mexico destination wedding photography

It’s been a very busy couple of weeks- but fun weeks!

Sean and I had the great honor of traveling to Isla Mujeres (tiny island 20 minutes from Cancun), to shoot Erin and Andrew’s wedding.  Oh my gosh- it was so fun! The island was absolutely beautiful and all we saw from Gustav were a couple of days of huge waves and a couple of quick showers- not bad at all!

Erin and Andrew are such a great couple.  I got to shoot some family photos of Erin’s sister, Heather, her husband Ryan and their baby girl Marie about a year ago.  When Erin was planning her wedding, Heather was kind enough to pass along my name and the rest is history!

The great thing about being on a tiny island for 5 days with a couple and their family is that you get to know them.  The fact that Erin and Andrew’s family and friends were totally fun, crazy and super sweet was a total cherry on top!  I feel I have found a bunch of new friends. I wish I could spend this much time with every couple.

Thank you everyone for having us along- we had a blast!

I just have to share a few of these photos!

More to come…

Gustav was long gone by the time of the wedding!

Is that not the cutest dress? Erin and Andrew looked amazing- dressed perfectly for the location!

Sean got this cool shot of Andrew just minutes before the ceremony.

Below are a couple of shots from our “Day After” session! The light was so perfect!

Sean got a shot of me while we were doing the “Day After” photos. This was just the beginning- I ended up waist deep in water! It felt nice!

Here is the photo I was getting!

We walked around the island looking for fun things to photograph!

These iguanas were everywhere! This was a big one! Must be a grand-dad!
