Abbey + Travis [a preview to the real post!]

Look at this! Is this not the coolest spot for a wedding?   This is a photo from Abbey and Travis’ fab. wedding in D-town.

I’ll be posting more tomorrow!

Email monster strikes again!

Hi everyone,

I have a feeling that many of you might have gotten a few “auto responder” emails from me today.   This is annoying- I know!

I am out of town and unable to access the bowels of my email account to fix this problem.  Believe me- I have tried!  I think I have a flat butt since I have been sitting here for a while trying to fix this!

I will be back on Friday- but you probably know that because of all those auto responders!   I will fix this the moment I get in.

I truly apologize if you have to sit and delete a bunch of emails today.
Have a wonderful day and Happy Thanksgiving,
Sherry

Tammy + Bear | Mercury Hall wedding Photography

This awesome wedding was at one the coolest venues in town- Mercury Hall!   I had met Tammy a few times before the wedding and she was as sweet as can be- but I had not had a chance to meet Bear.  With a name like that- I honestly had no idea what to expect!

On the wedding day, our first stop was to meet Bear and his guys at the Austin Mural to take some photos.  I thought- well that’s a good start.   So we pull up and there is a group of guys waiting for us- now these guys did not look like a wedding party I’ve ever shot before!  They looked like they were a band!  I was sooo excited!

After spending time with the guys, we arrived at mercury to find the place transformed into a sweet, bright and very calm place- reminded me so much of Tammy!  : )
The girls were so fun and awesome and they had a toast with a very special bottle of bubbly!

The whole day was perfect!  Sometime you get to a wedding and things just seem to fall into the right place- the people, the location, the light, the families, the couple- and this was certainly one of them!

Thank you Tammy and Bear for the great time!  Congrats!

Do you see what I mean?!!

The girls! What a cute dress!  I love the bow in the back!

Check out the bubbly!

Time to get married!

There were a few people in the background but I loved the light in this shot so I had to take it!

And the whole gang!

Oh my- I just love these shots of Tammy!

For the following shots- I just have to say that if I had light like this on every shoot- I’d be the happiest girl in the world!

This next shot was after we were done with the photos- I was waiting for Tammy and Bear to get announced.  I turn around to make sure I am in a good spot and this is what I see!  Love it!

Let the party begin!

I love shots like this!  What I like to do is to look beyond the foreground and see the looks on the faces of the people in the background! It’s just so cool!

One of my favorite things in the world is when I catch the flash from a guest’s camera!  I just think that adds so much to a photo- at the right time of course!

After the party was over- we spend a few minutes downtown for some night time shots.

I feel like this next shot needs to come with “do not try this at home” warning!  Scenario: about 11 pm, narrow and rather dark south first and I am standing in the middle of the street trying to time this shot and not get run over!  haha!  I live for the thrill!

Khoa + Cuong | Mayfield Park engagement photos

First of all I must warn you that this is a long post!
I had the hardest time picking photos for the blog because I had way too many favs!    I met Khoa first time over a phone conversation.  She lives in Canada and was going to be in town visiting her fiancé so it was the perfect time for an engagement session.

These two met long time ago when they were kids and neighbors in Vietnam.  They kept in touch over the years and soon realized that the puppy love they felt as kids was for real.  How sweet is that?  They are getting married surrounded by their friends and family in Vietnam in just a few weeks.

I won’t be there- now that would have been the coolest thing ever!- but I can’t wait to see some of their photos and hear about their big day.

Thank you guys for spending some of your limited together time with me.  I had a blast getting to know you!  You two rock!   : )

We started things off at Mayfiled Park.

Khoa and Cuong told me that they were into photography and had been looking around for some ideas, but I had no idea they would be so comfy and good in front of the camera. This was my lucky day!

After a few shots, Khoa changed into a traditional dress. How beautiful does she look? Also- AYKM with those eyes!?

So cute! awwww!

Off to shoot some funky stuff downtown!

Seriously- are you two sure you’re not models?!

We played a little with lights! There are a few more coming up. I’m sort of loving off-camera flash at the moment!

We had to hit the “love” wall!  Again- AYKM?!!

The wall at “Lucy in Disguise”!

My favorite “lighted” photos of the day!

Last but not least- we all shared some cupcakes at “Hey Cupcake!” Yummy!

Have a wonderful wedding day you two!

Shelley + Matt | hideout on the horseshoe wedding photography

Shelley and Matt are a rocking couple, totally in love!
They tied the knot at Hideout at the Horseshoe- I had never shot there before so it was a treat to get there and see how pretty the place was.  I do have to admit that there is a lot of hiking involved- so wear comfy shoes! haha!

Shelley planned this shindig long distance and I must say that she did a fab. job!  What a beautiful wedding!  Thank you Shelley and Matt for having us there- we had such a great time!  : )

Here are some of the photos from the big party!

The girls were busy getting ready for the ceremony…

In the meanwhile the boys were busy being boys! Love it!

Here is the handsome groom!

And the totally smashing bride!  Isn’t the flowers in her hair fabulous?

Matt and Shelley did a “I want to be with you but not see you” moment before the ceremony. So sweet!

This was a funny wedding party!  look at those faces!

This image will make total sense at the end of this post- promise!

On to the big party!  This bunch danced the night away!

I was so excited when I got this shot of Shelley dancing but then when I was editing the photos I realized that there was so much more to see in this photo.  Look at the rest of the girls!  nice!
My fav. from the reception!

Ok-so here is when the photo with the boat pedals will make sense!  Matt and Shelley had a very unique exit!  They went for a little midnight cruise down the river!  I was told that it was a 45 minutes route and the bridal party was going to go pick them up on the other end!  How fun is that?

I’m back!

Oh happy day!

So it looks like things have worked out with the email and website!   I am back on-line and can now reply to all the emails from the last few days.

A big huge THANK YOU to all who have waited patiently for me to get back to them.

It’s nice to be back!
