Addie and John | austin engagement photography

May and June have been super crazy months with loads of fun shoots- and that means that my blogging has suffered!  I am now going to try to catch up and show off all the fun sessions and weddings I have shot during the last couple of months.

So- to start things off let’s have a look at the awesome session I shot with the fabulous Addie and John- who are now Mr. and Mrs!

I can’t tell you enough good things about this sweet couple!  First of all, you can spot the chemistry between them a mile away!  Now let’s add a whole lot of energy and the willingness to try some fun new locations!
Addie, John- thanks for the awesome session!  You are amazing!

Addie is so sassy and I love her shoes!

John is so handsome!  Look at that hair!

Oh- and I forgot to say…we had some amazing light to work with!

Favorite photo of the day!

Even the peacocks at Mayfield were in the mood that day!

Hello- are you kidding me?  Stunning!

Emily | Villa Antonia bridal photography

Emily is a married woman now so I can post these photos!     Emily and David (check out their fun engagement session here) got married at Villa Antonia so we had the opportunity to shoot Emily’s bridals there too!

What a cool place- and what a cool bride!  You are alright in my book if you bring candy to your bridal session! haha!

Check out a few of my favs!    Thanks Emily for a great session!  : )

Emily got the best laugh!

We had a beautiful overcast day- I love a nice even light for shoots that are in the middle of the day!

And here is the candy- peanut m&m to be exact!  I love the color!

Woohoo!

Look at those pretty flowers!  Ladies- you don’t need to have a duplicate of your wedding day bouquet for your bridal session.  Just pick up some pretty flowers- they make a great prop and add color to your photo!

Can’t wait to show you the wedding photos!

Churches are awesome too! | austin wedding photography

I think my love for taking photos outside sometimes decides what ends up on the blog!   Lately I’ve noticed that I am not showing off my church ceremony photos all too much and that’s a shame!

As a teen, I used to run around with my camera and take photos of churches all over the place and I guess this is as good as time as any to show a few of my church/ceremony photos.

I don’t like using flash in churches so about 95% of the photos you see here are taken with available light.  Besides- a lot of churches have rules against using flash- and well, it’s a good thing that I can do without!

Some of the photos below are courtesy of my fabulous friend and second shooter James of James Dvorscak Photography.
A  lot of times we can’t move around very much during the ceremony so it is super handy to have two people shooting.  We always coordinate so we can get all those important shots.

Enjoy!

Adrianna and Josh- preview! Austin wedding photography

I can’t help myself!

Here are a couple of photos from Adrianna and Josh’s wedding at Vista West Ranch. Such a cool wedding!  You won’t find two more easy going fun people anywhere!
Loved it!    Thanks guys for making us feel like family!  : )

Check out the beautiful flowers!  Petal Pushers rocked it as usual!

Unbridaled | austin fashion and bridal photography

Once again I teamed up with the ladies at Unbridaled for a fun shoot!   We had two lovely models, Ginny and Macy, and a team of super cool, talented people on this shoot.

Oh- how I loved it!  Here are a few of my favorite photos from the day.  Can’t wait for the next shoot!  : )

There is something about boots on a bride!

Ginny rocked this look!

This was “the” dress for Macy!  She looked amazing!

Adrianna and Josh | 50’s themed engagement shoot

So the first time I met Adrianna she told me that she was not a traditional bride and that she wanted something different for her engagement and wedding photos…that was music to my ears!

After pulling a few strings, a few hair trial, some online shopping and a flight home for Josh- we ended up with these photos!     I love it!

The cool WWII replica B-25 bomber in the back is the Devil Dog!
A huge thank you for the people at Pilot’s Choice – specially Beth and Bridgett- for letting us come and play in the hanger!  Also thanks to my lovely friend Diana for helping us arrange this shoot.

I love this one!

So cool!  I can’t believe how stylish these two looked in their outfits!

We stepped outside, as the sun was setting.  What a perfect light!

And then a wardrobe change! I got to spray Adrianna’s hair with water and sorry Josh for digging in your bag!

A polka dots cardigan…oh, that almost ended up in my camera bag!
If you know me- then you know that I LOVE cardigans!!

Thank you Adrianna and Josh for an amazing shoot!  I can’t wait to shoot your wedding in just a couple of weeks.
Thank you also to Kristi Wright for all the help.  I bet you can head over to her blog and see a few of her pics!

Lynette | Laguna Gloria bridal photography

Oh- I have waiting to post these!

Lynette is now a Mrs!  She and Matt got married last night- and oh it was a fun wedding- so today I can share her bridal photos with everyone.

Lynette has been a dream to work with and we’ve had such fun time during our shoots.  We shot her bridals at the beautiful Laguna Gloria.  We had the perfect light, on a perfect day- it could have not been more awesome!

Here are a few of my favs!  Enjoy!

Oh my gosh- look at all that green!  Love Spring in TX!

You are so beautiful Lynette!

Oh and then the wind picked up!  The next day we had crazy rain here in Austin!  So glad we were able to catch the perfect weather.

Thanks Lynette for such a good time!   You rock!  : )

Sofie- little face! Austin children photography

Just had to post this!
Had the camera handy this morning during play time!

Erin & Christian – downtown Austin engagement photography

I have been sitting on some really fun engagement photos and it is time to start showing you a few of them!

This is Erin and Christian!
What a sweet couple!  They drove to Austin for their engagement session.  I’m always so grateful when couples make such a big effort to have me take their photos.    Thank you guys!  : )

This was no ordinary session!   We had a bit of drama in the beginning of our shoot – we got harassed by a homeless guy accusing me of taking photos of him- Omg!  Like why would I even, right?!!

After this little bit of oddness- we moved on to East Austin and some other of my favorite spots for more photos.  This was truly the first warm day after the crazy snow and everyone in Austin was out!  People were enjoying the sunshine, skipping along the road at the park, hula hooping and well- being Austin!

It was certainly contagious and before I knew it I’m shooting Erin and Christian hula hooping and having a water fight!
Here are a few of the ones I love!

They can be sweet or bad-ass!  haha!

The close up photo is truly a candid moment!  I was testing the shot but I loved it so much that it made the final batch!

So we see these two guys pushing an amplifier and some hula hoops across the park!
Well- we had to go see what was up and then…this happened!

What a fun afternoon!  Thank you Erin and Christian for being up for pretty much anything!  LOVE!
I can’t wait for your wedding in July!

Guest book – austin engagement photography

Guest books are awesome!

I got married a little over 6 years ago and not knowing any better, I went with the traditional fancy book to collect notes and signatures from our friends and family. To be perfectly honest, I have no idea where that book is today!

This is why I encourage my couples to use their engagement photos and make a custom guest book for their big day.
Here are some reasons!

1- You get to actually put your awesome engagement photos to use.
2- Share the photos with all your guests who may not ever have been able to see them otherwise.
3- Most important, you’ll end up with a cool little book that you can proudly display in your home and continue to show off all those fun engagement shots and encouraging notes you received on your wedding day.

Give me a call and I’ll hook you up!  : )
Check out this one I made for Sathya and Matt!  They’re getting married tomorrow!  woohoo!
