It’s hot in TX! | wedding flowers at Vintage Villas

Ok- people, so needless to say it’s hot out!  Today was 99 degrees and tomorrow we have a high of 102!  yikes!   I always somehow forget how hot it gets around here.

One thing that goes first in the heat/ in TX/ at weddings/ is the flowers.  So so sad!  I mean, here comes the poor florist all excited and delivers the flowers 30 minutes before the ceremony to make sure they are fresh and then by the time the I-do’s are done…well so are the flowers!

But, there are some simple and very pretty things you can do to keep your flowers fresh.  Check out this idea from Erin and Christian’s wedding this past weekend.   I took this photos almost 2 hours after the ceremony and those little arrangements were still stunning. Note that these little guys were hanging in the sun when we arrived nearly 2 hours before the ceremony!!

I can’t wait to show you more photos from this awesome wedding- but here is the sneak peek!  : )

Stunning!  Love these!

Emily + Dave | Villa Antonia wedding photography

Dave and Emily- what can I say about this lovely couple?   To say that they have been super awesome and fun to work with, is an understatement.   Take the engagement session…Emily wears a cowboy hat, there is some home-slice involved and they buy me candy!    The bridal session…Emily brings along blue shoes, bright flowers and candy!  And then there is the wedding… the wedding was at the stunning Villa Antonia and it was so pretty, so colorful, so fun!  I really think that every single person had a blast that night!

On top of all this awesomeness, I got to have the amazing Dave from DCM Photography along for this wedding.  Once you’ve looked at the photos below you should take a little trip to his blog to see even more photos.

Emily and Dave, I can’t thank you enough for letting me document your day and for getting to know you.    Oh- I also have to thank my awesome friend and former bride Jenny who recommended me to Emily…you rock!

What is this?  An Oscar acceptance speech?   I’m going to stop now so you can look at some photos…please ignore me!!!!

Stunning!

Ladybug!

Usually I’m too far away to be able to catch both the bride walking and the groom’s reaction…but I am so glad I was in just the right spot for this one.
Can you imagine what Dave was thinking just then?  hehe!

Everyone was so relaxed after the ceremony!  One of my favorite photos of the day!

Never had a photo of the bride/groom that also included a gargoyle!  Can you spot him?  He’s kinds of cute!

Lots of very colorful, very pretty details!  Emily is a girl after my own heart!

I always think it’s super neat when the bridal party does something special at the reception- like these guys!

PARTY!

Mandy and James | austin wedding photography – Memory Lane Event Center

If there is one thing to be said about Mandy and James it’s that they are energetic, hilarious, sweet and stunning!  Yeah- yeah, I know that’s more than one thing but these two are so awesome that you can’t describe them in one word!
I had such a great time working with these two and I am truly sad that we are done with their wedding!   I sure hope I get to see them soon again!
So- without further ado…here are some of my favorites from the big day!
Stunning dress- stunning girl!

I love this moment.  Mandy’s dad saw her for the first time in her beautiful gown. : )

In the meanwhile- the guys were getting ready as well!

tic-tac is handy right before the ceremony!

The light was getting just right when we got back to Memory Lane for some photos.

I just would like to say that this fun stuff is all Mandy and James!  I could hardly contain them- and why would I?!!

The shot below is ode to a shot we got from Mandy and James’ engagement session.  Click here and scroll all the way down…promise- it’s worth it!  : )

Birds were everywhere and the groom’s cake was a chopper!

Friends played the song for the first dance- I love that!

Mandy’s dad is a sweet-heart!

The mother- son dance was all about fun!

And the fun just kept going!

These two are just too much fun to photograph!

Thank you Mandy and James for an amazing time!  I had so much fun working with you and it’s been wonderful to get to know you.  So glad we get to keep in touch on Facebook!  Wishing you all the best!  : )

Adrianna and Josh- preview! Austin wedding photography

I can’t help myself!

Here are a couple of photos from Adrianna and Josh’s wedding at Vista West Ranch. Such a cool wedding!  You won’t find two more easy going fun people anywhere!
Loved it!    Thanks guys for making us feel like family!  : )

Check out the beautiful flowers!  Petal Pushers rocked it as usual!

Michael and Stacey – Green Pastures wedding photography

Meet the awesome duo that is Stacey and Michael!

I really loved- let me repeat- loved working with these two!   You will not find two sweeter, down to earth and lovely people!  And you know what- I think that is the way a whole lot of other people feel about them too.  This was crystal clear on their wedding day.  Every guest seemed to have so much fun, and to really love these two.

One might say that they made friends with me by a way of a taco!
Michael is the owner of Torchy’s Tacos.   Let me just do you a favor and tell you that you need to drop everything now and go get a Torchy’s taco!  Omg- they are so delicious! I got to shoot some photos of them having some taco’s for their engagement session and I got invited to have some too.  Oh gosh- Sean and I have been hooked since!  And to think that I had never had one before I met Michael and Stacey!

What a blast this wedding was!  I’m going to stop talking now so you can check out a few of the photos!!

Omg- the best groom reaction ever!  He’s so sweet!

It was pretty cold out so we did most of the photos inside.

But then we braved the cold for some photos of Michael and Stacey!

sm17

What a gal!  Seriously, check out the goose bumps on her arm!

sm16

Best laugh ever!  I told her, the focus is on the flowers but I can see you in the background so have a good time…and then I get this shot!  You are so awesome Stacey!

sm18

Oh- and as if everything was not so perfect…check out their vintage getaway car!

I usually don’t do a whole section on toasts but I had to for this wedding.  They were funny, emotional, genuine, and really came from the heart…plus check out Mike’s laugh at the end!  I was told he had a contagious laughter…but I did not expect the whole room to laugh with him! haha!

Heather and Josh – Starhill Ranch wedding photography

It is time to talk about another fabulous wedding at an always fantastic venue!

Heather and Josh got married at Starhill Ranch.    I can’t decide why it is that every wedding I’ve shot there turns out to be the best wedding ever!  Is it because the venue is so unique and private or is it that only the most amazing couples end up having their wedding there?           mmm…well, no matter!  Either way I love it!

I simply loved this wedding and I love Heather and Josh.   We had a great time doing their engagement session and Heather’s bridals.  After the wedding photos were done, I told Heather that I was truly sad since we did not have any other shoots scheduled!

Well- let’s have a look at the wedding- here are a few of my favorites!

hjblog1

Heather’s got good taste!  Look at the jewelry!  I still want to know where she got those amazing necklaces for her girls!

hjblog2

Look at the photos that are hung on the walls!  Those are photos of the bride and groom, staring with photos of them as babies and finishing with their engagement photos.  So clever- those two!

I love to make the “portraits” at weddings different so when there is the opportunity I go to work!
Of course I had a super fun bridal party to work with so it was extra fun!

Ryan + Griff – austin wedding photography | the mansion

This is going to be a long post- so go get yourself a snack, sit back and check out the totally awesome wedding of Ryan and Griff!
I usually get a good feel for a couple and how their wedding will be after I shoot the engagement session.  Ryan and Griff’s engagement session was a total blast!  Then as we were getting ready to shoot Ryan’s bridals, I knew I would have a good time and I was not disappointed!
Ok- so to the wedding!
It was very obvious that it had taken a lot of hard work to pull off this shindig!
Everything looked beautiful, the guests had a good time, the couple were relaxed and yours truly…well…I was shooting my little heart out!
This was the first wedding after my maternity leave, so I was super excited to be back shooting and to be shooting such a fun wedding.

Here are a few of my favorite photos!

Bethany + Jeremy…A Diva Wedding – austin wedding photography

Woohoo!  Awesome wedding!
Bethany and Jeremy are so cool- we had a great engagement session and I knew that I was going to enjoy shooting their wedding after that.   One thing that was different about this wedding was that I got to have the fabulous Lisa Woods along!     The Urban Wedding Divas have a new collection that includes not just one but two divas!  It is pretty kicking!  Two divas, two great point of views and two chicks having a good time shooting their hearts out!
Can it get any better?
Well- apparently it can…in the form of Jeremy and Bethany’s wedding!

Here are a few of my favs!  Thank you guys for allowing me to capture your day- I loved it!

Stunning Bethany…stunning!

jb2

I should have known that the girl who wore hot pink pumps to her engagement session would not stand for white shoes on her wedding day!

Veronica and Rodrigo- austin wedding photography

I am a big fan of backyard weddings- maybe it has something to do with the fact that I had one and it was perfect!
Veronica called me about shooting some engagement photos and when she decided that she wanted more coverage on her wedding day, I was lucky enough to get a call from her again!    I love these guys!  So sweet, so fun and so stylish!

They had a sweet ceremony at the JP’s office and then we went off to do some fun portraits.   We got to shoot at the monarch and gosh did we have a nice view!

This, I thought, was the highlight of the day until I got to the reception and saw all the amazing details.
Thank you guys for a great day!   Love you!

Ummm- can anyone tell me why there is a Christmas tree in the JPs office in the middle of May?!
